The First End of the World
The manuscript The First End of the World is built on poems about Pandora. They were originally inspired by a woodcut that I saw in which the box was this beautiful little chest. (Based on a cartoon in a seventh-grade school book, I had always pictured it as a great big packing crate.)
That first poem led to others—an exploration of who Pandora was and who she might be today. Here are some of the poems. |
